China implements new standards for heavy-duty diesel vehicles

China began implementing the new national discharge standard for heavy-duty diesel vehicles on September 1. The State Environmental Protection Administration reminds all motor vehicle manufacturing companies that they must strictly comply with the requirements of the new emission standards, stop the production of substandard vehicles within a specified period of time, and change the production of new models that meet the standards.
In April this year, the State Environmental Protection Administration and the State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine jointly issued a new national vehicle emission standard. The standard involving heavy-duty diesel vehicles is equivalent to the level of European emission regulations that was implemented in Europe in 1992, with emphasis on nitrogen control. Oxides, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter. After the implementation of the new standard, pollutants emitted by diesel vehicles will be reduced by 10% to 30%.
Yuan Ying, a senior engineer in the Department of Pollution Control, said that in fact, this standard was notified to manufacturers last year to ensure that the company has a ready process.
It is reported that enterprises that continue to produce vehicles that are overdue for the overdue period will be ordered by the relevant state departments to be recalled and punished in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law.
The relevant state departments will also announce the list of non-compliance models in the near future, and will supervise and inspect the non-compliance of the models.
