“Daqing Daqing” was listed as a national key construction project and became the largest offshore oil field in China to date.

The Penglai 19-3/25-6 oilfield development project, known as “Daqing Daqing”, has recently been listed as a national key construction project in 2005. The largest offshore oilfield in China so far is expected to ease the oil supply crisis in China.
In recent years, the output of many large land oil fields represented by Daqing Oilfield has been declining. The rapid economic development has increased the demand for oil in China. This prompted China to increase its development of offshore oil and gas resources in recent years. After the Penglai oilfield is fully put into operation, it will relieve China's potential oil crisis to some extent and reduce the external dependence of China's energy sources. It is understood that up to now, seven hundred million tons of oil fields have been discovered in the Bohai Bay area. Among the seven oil fields, the Penglai 19-3/25-6 oil field in the central part of the Bohai Sea was the second largest discovery by China since Daqing Oilfield. The large-scale oilfields account for almost half of the existing oil production in the Bohai Sea.
The Penglai 19-3/25-6 oilfield is located in the southern Bohai Sea, with a structural area of 50 square kilometers and proven reserves of 600,000 tons of petroleum. The deposit is located at a depth of about 20 meters in the sea, and oil is buried at a depth of 900 to 1400 meters. Between the average thickness of the oil layer is about 150 meters, with the advantages of shallow burial, abundance, large reserves, and easy development.
