"Double Opposite Side" Becomes an Expansion Opportunity for Japanese Tire Enterprises
Yokohama recently announced that it will expand its large-size tire production capacity at its Newtown plant in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The company plans to develop a new product line in May 2016, start production in June, and gradually expand its production capacity to achieve full-load production by April 2018.
After this expansion, the annual production capacity of large-size tires at the Unicorns Newtown Plant will increase by about 20%.
The tire giant Bridgestone was not idle either. Since 2016, Bridgestone has announced the expansion of tire production capacity in Russia, Canada and the United States.
Among them, the Russian passenger car tire plant investment of about 2.07 billion yuan, Canada's new passenger car capacity project investment of about 1.65 billion yuan, the United States North Carolina plant investment of 1.1 billion yuan.
In addition, other Japanese tire companies such as Sumitomo Rubber and Toyo also have plans to increase production.
China is the largest producer of tires in the world, and the United States is the world’s largest tire consumer market. Both China and Japan are major US tire trading partners.
