- Storm Restoration
Latest Update: Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has restored electricity to over 1.9 million customers and is focusing resources on the areas most severely affected by Hurricane Milton. The remaining outages are primarily concentrated in the hardest-hit regions where storm damage has been extensive. FPL remains fully committed to restoring power to the approximately 69,000 customers who are still without electricity, with crews systematically working neighborhood by neighborhood until all customers have their service back.
Important Note: Some homes and businesses may require repairs before they can safely receive electricity. These customers should contact a licensed electrician to make necessary repairs before FPL can restore power safely. However, if your neighbors have power but you do not, or if you live in an area that has been "essentially restored," please call us at 1-800-4-OUTAGE (1-800-468-8243).
Key Numbers (as of 5 p.m.):
- More than 1.9 million customers already have their power restored, which is more than 95% of those impacted by Milton.
- Nearly 69,000 customers remain without power.
- Approximately 554,000 outages were avoided thanks to smart technology.
- A workforce of 20,000 men and women from 41 states and Canada continues to work around the clock.

Words from FPL President and CEO Armando Pimentel: "Our crews have worked tirelessly to restore power to over 1.9 million customers. There is still work to be done in some of the hardest-hit areas. I want to assure everyone that our teams will not stop until every single customer has electricity."
Get Support: Some FPL customers may qualify for financial assistance to help cover costs associated with making their homes safe to receive electricity through FPL’s Care to Share® program. This program is available for customers who need repairs to meter boxes and weather heads. Customers can apply for assistance at FPL.com/help. Those wishing to support hurricane victims can also contribute via FPL.com/help.
What Customers Should Do After the Storm:
- Safety is FPL's top priority for its crews and customers. Continue following local emergency officials' instructions.
- Exercise extreme caution while driving. Power outages may cause traffic signals to malfunction without warning. Treat any intersection with a non-functioning signal as a four-way stop.
- If using a portable generator, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for proper use. Never operate a generator inside your home or garage.
- Stay well away from downed power lines, floods, and debris. Assume all power lines are energized.
- In case of an emergency, call 911.
- Customers can report downed power lines or sparking electrical equipment by calling 1-800-4-OUTAGE (1-800-468-8243).
