Lake Zurich, Wauconda, Long Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Barrington, and Palatine Rural Fire Protection District (FPD) units responded to a reported structure fire at 21231 Brandon Road in Kildeer just after 10 p.m. on Monday. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a vehicle on fire in the driveway that had spread to the attached garage of a two-story home. The incident was upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm, prompting additional resources from Barrington Countryside, Buffalo Grove, Cary, Countryside FPD, Nunda Rural, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, and Wheeling.
Firefighters quickly contained the blaze before it could spread further into the house. No portable tank or tanker shuttle was required, as Long Grove Tanker 55 provided water support to Lake Zurich Engines 324 and 325, which were positioned near the residence.
Multiple photos captured the scene, including images of fire engines, a portable water tank, and firefighters working to control the fire. The incident was later confirmed on the Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Facebook page, where they stated: "We are on location in the 21000 block of Brandon Road in Kildeer for a structure fire. No injuries reported at this time and we have the fire out. MABAS Box 32-2 was requested by command. We are slowly releasing on-scene companies. Red Cross has been notified."
The quick response and coordination among multiple fire departments helped prevent the fire from spreading further, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation during emergencies. Residents in the area were advised to remain cautious and monitor updates from local authorities.
