Nationwide Boiler Inc. is thrilled to celebrate the success of its annual charity golf tournament, which wrapped up over the weekend of May 8-9, 2024, at the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Links. This year’s event was nothing short of exceptional, raising over $63,000 through sponsorships, donations, auctions, raffles, and various activities. These funds will be evenly split between two remarkable causes: the American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) Scholarship Fund, which helps nurture future talent within the boiler industry, and Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area, an organization that grants transformative wishes to children facing critical illnesses.
Larry Day, President of Nationwide Boiler Inc., expressed his excitement about the overwhelming support received from participants, donors, and sponsors. “This event exemplifies the power of community spirit and shared purpose,†he stated. “It’s heartening to see such generosity translate into meaningful contributions toward these vital causes.â€
The tournament began with a practice round at the nearby Poppy Hills Golf Course, followed by the main event at Pebble Beach. A total of 52 eager golfers competed, with Geoff Wilkinson Jr. of G.T. Wilkinson Companies emerging victorious as the Low Gross Winner. Mitch Frank of HTS, Inc., triumphed in the Handicap Division, while Matt Whittington of Hurst Boiler & Welding Company claimed victory in the Callaway Division. Notably, Nationwide Boiler's own Jack Valentine earned the Closest to the Pin award, and for the first time in tournament history, the Longest Drive prize went to a woman golfer—Emily Forth of Tulsa Heaters Midstream.
Following the golf rounds, approximately 100 guests attended a lively Hawaiian Luau-themed awards banquet featuring a silent auction, raffles, and a delicious buffet dinner. The atmosphere was filled with joy and camaraderie, leaving everyone with cherished memories.
