I just saw this post from the Horrocks Fire and Rescue Apparatus Facebook page, and I thought it was worth sharing. They had some great things to say about the Wyndmoor Hose Company No. 1 in Montgomery County. Apparently, they’ve been selected to team up with Rosenbauer to build their brand-new 55-foot ACP (Articulating Cobra Platform) fire truck.
The vehicle is going to be constructed on a Rosenbauer Commander chassis, with an EXT 3/16" extruded aluminum body. One of the standout features is that it comes with a transferrable lifetime body structural warranty, which is pretty impressive. It also includes a front bumper booster reel, a powerful 1,750-gallon-per-minute Hale pump, a 500-gallon water tank, and a Harrison 6-kW hydraulic generator. The ACP has a 750-pound dry/500-pound wet tip load capacity, with a 13-foot-8-inch A-frame outrigger spread. Interestingly, it uses the same SMART control system as the rest of their aerial product line.
It’s really exciting to see all the details coming together for this project. The hashtags at the end—#BigRedR, #HorrocksFire, and #Rosenbauer—are probably part of their branding efforts. I especially love how they’re emphasizing the quality and innovation that goes into these vehicles.
Oh, and there’s an image attached to the post showing a drawing of the new Rosenbauer America fire truck. It looks incredible! Thanks to Josh for sharing this; it’s always interesting to see what kind of cutting-edge equipment these departments are getting.
I’m sure the Wyndmoor Hose Company No. 1 will put this truck to great use protecting the community. It seems like they’re investing in top-notch technology and safety features, which is fantastic. I can’t wait to hear more updates once it’s fully operational!
