SAIC Fiat Red Rock Power Company Launches Annual Production of 200,000 Sets of Engines
SAIC Fiat Powertrain Co., Ltd. (SFH) has officially launched its production operations in Chongqing, marking a significant milestone for the company. With an annual production capacity of 200,000 diesel engine units, SFH aims to deliver high-performance, high-quality, and environmentally friendly power solutions not only to China but also to Other regions across East Asia. This move underscores the company's commitment to meeting growing market demands while adhering to strict environmental standards.
SFH is a joint venture between SAIC Iveco Commercial Vehicle Investment Co., Ltd., Fiat Power Technology Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Heavy-Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. As one of the largest diesel engine manufacturers in China, the company is positioned as a leader in developing advanced, low-emission diesel technologies. The project integrates Fiat’s cutting-edge power technology with SAIC’s and Chongqing Heavy-Duty Truck’s local resources, including human capital, industrial infrastructure, and customer networks. This synergy allows European engineering expertise to be seamlessly combined with local manufacturing capabilities, creating a powerful and efficient production model.
The company plans to produce 200,000 diesel engines annually, with half of them intended for export. This strategic approach not only strengthens China’s domestic engine industry but also enhances its global competitiveness. In addition to traditional diesel engines, SFH is also focusing on energy-efficient and new energy bus development. In May of this year, the company signed a collaboration agreement with Chongqing Bus Group Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Hengtong Bus Co., Ltd. to jointly develop eco-friendly and next-generation bus products, further expanding its presence in the commercial vehicle sector.
