In order to realize the high value-added use of methyl acetate, a by-product of the PTA production process, a new process for the hydrolysis of methyl acetate in the production of PTA was used for process integration and optimization through the reaction and separation coupling technology, and a new hydrolysis process for methyl acetate was developed. The improvement of the single-pass conversion of methyl acetate hydrolysis has opened up a new way for the comprehensive utilization of PTA byproducts.

According to the characteristics of PTA-refined wastewater, a new process development project for the utilization of refined wastewater in PTA production has developed an extraction-membrane-separation-ion exchange coupling process. The solids recovery rate is ≥99%, and the concentration of metal ions in the treated water reaches the refined reuse water. Process requirements.

The three projects have obtained 7 national patents for inventions, which have significant economic and social benefits.

It is understood that the level of material consumption and energy consumption of the PTA device directly determines the competitiveness of the device to a large extent, becoming the most important indicator for measuring the advanced nature of the device. Compared with the international advanced level, China's PTA production still has problems of high material consumption and high energy consumption.
