This is from Brad Steinweg:
Photos from the house fire in Chicago Heights at 15th and Lowe on Wednesday. When I arrived, the structure was pretty well involved, with crews in overhaul and tackling hot spots. You can also see Flossmoor’s former ambulance 1370, now assigned to Chicago Heights as ambulance 681. While fighting the fire, they also responded a short distance away for a vehicle that was smoking heavily.

It was a busy day for the Chicago Heights Fire Department, with multiple calls coming in during the same incident. The fire was intense, and it looked like the crews had their work cut out for them. The image of the old Flossmoor ambulance now serving Chicago Heights shows how resources are often shared between neighboring departments. There were also several other units on scene, including a HME Ahrens-Fox pumper, which is a common sight at such incidents. The additional call for a smoldering vehicle just down the street added to the complexity of the response. It's always interesting to see how quickly firefighters can shift focus and handle multiple emergencies at once.
