Jiangxi Grain Drying Mechanization Level Rapidly Increases Grain Dryer Volume Increase First in China

On May 18th, the reporter learned from the Provincial Bureau of Agricultural Machinery that, as of mid-May of this year, the number of grain dryers in our province was 0.91 million, the largest increase in the country, and the mechanization level of grain drying was 40.65%, higher than the national average of 20 percentage point.

Grain drying is a key part of the food production process and an important part of the realization of full-scale mechanization of food production. Mechanized drying technology is to artificially control temperature and humidity, and to reduce the moisture content of grain without prejudice to food quality. Its drying technology meets national safe storage standards. In recent years, in order to improve grain quality, storage and processing, and accelerate the promotion of agricultural industrialization, intensification, and modernization, our province has scientifically determined the amount of subsidies for grain dryers and continued to increase subsidies for grain dryers. Guide all localities to rely on large grain producers and cooperatives to promote the construction of a drying center and demonstrate the demonstration effect. Under the guidance and support of the national agricultural machinery purchase subsidy policy, the enthusiasm of the farmers for purchasing and use of machines in our province has been significantly improved, and the number of grain dryer subsidy machines has achieved “five consecutive increases”. In the past three years, the number of subsidies for grain dryers in our province was 1,331 units (sets), 2,795 units (sets), and 3,971 units (sets), respectively, showing a gratifying trend of leaping growth.
