Nanjing Jianning West Road Construction Tunnel will be built in two phases at the end of the year.

On August 7, the Nanjing Public Works Construction Center announced the environmental impact report of the first phase of the Jianning West Road crossing the river. The public display shows that the Jianning West Road crossing the river is planned to cross the river by tunnel, and is designed as a two-pipe single-layer one-way three-lane structure. Affected by factors such as the location of Nanjing North Railway Station, the project will be built in two phases, with Jiangbei Avenue as the boundary. The first phase of the project is scheduled to start at the end of 2018, with a construction period of 60 months. It is planned to be completed at the end of 2023.

The Jianning West Road Crossing River Passage is located between the Yangtze River Bridge and the Yangtze River Tunnel, about 1.8km from the Yangtze River Tunnel and 2.4km from the Yangtze River Bridge.

According to the publicity, the first phase of the project started at the intersection of Xingpu Road and Jiangbei Expressway in Jiangbei New District, and crossed the Yangtze River to the south bank of the river to Nanshun Xingpu Road. It was laid along the existing Jianning West Road, successively with Jiangbian Road and Huimin. The intersection of Lu and Rehe Road ends at the intersection of Jianning West Road and Rehe Road. The total length of the main line is about 6.8km, including Jiangbei Avenue Interchange, Hengjiang Avenue Underground Interchange, Huimin Road Underground Interchange (partial) and this Channel-related ground auxiliary roads.

Among them, the Jiangbei Avenue to Hengjiang Avenue section is a city expressway with a design speed of 80km. The Hengjiang Road to the Rehe section is the main urban road with a design speed of 60km. There are two-way six-lane road from Jiangbei Avenue to Huimin Road, and two-way four-lane from Huimin Road to Rehe Road.

According to the route that the workers can provide, the first phase of the project will pass through the Guanbian River and Pukou Railway Station historical features in the form of tunnels. The construction method of the section is shield tunneling, which has less impact on the surface environment; Effective measures will be taken to prevent land subsidence and to strengthen the protection of surrounding buildings, minimizing the impact of construction on historical and cultural cities.

After completion, the Jianning West Road crossing the river channel can further strengthen the connection between the main city of Nanjing and the core area of ​​Jiangbei New Area on the basis of the bridge and the Yangtze River Tunnel. It is of great significance to the development of the Jiangbei New Area and is a diversion channel to alleviate the traffic pressure of the Yangtze River Bridge. .
