Prospect Heights Box Alarm, 11-3-14

This is from Larry Shapiro:

The Prospect Heights Fire Department was called to a house fire around 3 AM on Monday at 1201 N. Stratford Road, near Rand Road. As the first responders were en route, they were informed that a 14-year-old boy was trapped inside while other family members had already escaped. Several police officers attempted to search for the boy but were forced out due to intense smoke and fire conditions.

Arlington Heights Engine 2 arrived first on the scene, where heavy flames were burning in the center of the house. The area lacked hydrants, so supply lines were stretched to an Arlington Heights street in one direction and to a nearby shopping center across Rand Road in the other. Water pressure was an issue initially when Engine 2 experienced mechanical problems, which delayed water delivery. Additional lines were later supplied by Prospect Heights Tower 9 to help contain the blaze.

A Box Alarm was activated along with multiple ambulances, as two adults from the home and three police officers needed medical attention. One ambulance remained on standby in case the missing boy could be rescued. Fortunately, it was later confirmed that the boy was not at home and was found safely elsewhere. Two individuals were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Photos from the scene show firefighters working under challenging conditions, battling a fully engulfed home late at night. The fire spread quickly, forcing crews to work from both ends of the block. A Pierce Quantum fire engine was seen responding to the call, and firefighters were seen cutting through walls in an effort to reach the interior. The fire also burned from a basement window well, indicating the severity of the situation.

Plastic Shredder

The Plastic Shredding Machine is a crucial device in the plastic recycling industry, designed to break down plastic waste into smaller, manageable pieces.
1. Single Shaft Shredder
Professional Parameters: Equipped with a single rotating shaft with sharp blades, suitable for a wide range of plastic materials including films, bottles, and containers. The output particle size can be controlled by the screen mesh size, typically ranging from 20-26mm for hard materials.
2. Double Shaft Shredder
Professional Parameters: Features two counter-rotating shafts with interlocking teeth, providing enhanced cutting efficiency and versatility. It can handle bulky or thick plastic items, such as automotive parts and electronic waste.
3. Horizontal Shredders
Professional Parameters: Features a horizontal orientation, with materials fed into the top of the machine and discharged from the side or bottom. It is well-suited for continuous shredding operations and can handle large volumes of plastic waste with ease.
Efficient and reliable, designed for continuous operation. It can process large volumes of plastic waste, making it suitable for large-scale recycling operations.
Application Scenarios: Widely used in industrial settings where large volumes of plastic waste need to be processed continuously.
