Still & Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 1/6/17

I’m sharing a few photos taken on Friday afternoon at the Still & Box located at 11661 S. Western Ave. These images were captured by my daughter, Heather Garcia, who lives close to the area. The fire seems to have started in the garage and spread into the house. It’s always heartbreaking to see such scenes, but it’s good to know that the fire department was quick to respond.

I managed to get a look at the Still & Box at 11661 S. Western Ave. on Friday, but I only had my phone to take photos. From what I could tell, the fire started in the garage attached to the back of the house and then spread into both levels. Squad 5 was out of service, so an extra truck was dispatched. It's amazing how quickly the firefighters responded, even with the challenges they faced.
