Working fire in Riverwoods, 11-26-17

On Sunday afternoon, firefighters from the Deerfield-Bannockburn and Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District were dispatched to 601 Eagle Court in Riverwoods after reports of a fire in the rear of a home. Neighbors witnessed flames coming from the back of the house, prompting an immediate response. The alarm was escalated to a Code 4 working fire before any units arrived, as officials received updates that the structure was already heavily involved in flames.

Lincolnshire Engine 52 was the first unit on scene and found visible flames emerging from the rear of the property. They quickly deployed a hose line to attack the fire, which was still confined to the exterior of the house. Deerfield Engine 20 arrived next and assisted in bringing the fire under control. Thanks to the swift response, the fire was extinguished relatively quickly, and the remaining responding units were held on standby for further assessment.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, but no injuries have been reported. Local residents expressed relief that the fire didn’t spread to other parts of the home. The area was secured by emergency personnel, and crews remained on site until the situation was fully stabilized.
