Working fire in Riverwoods, 11-26-17

On Sunday afternoon, firefighters from the Deerfield-Bannockburn and Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District were dispatched to 601 Eagle Court in Riverwoods after reports of a fire in the rear of the house. Neighbors on the scene described what they saw, and as the situation developed, the alarm was upgraded to a Code 4 working fire before any units arrived. This indicated that the house was already heavily involved in flames.

Lincolnshire Engine 52 was the first unit to arrive and immediately spotted visible flames coming from the back of the property. They reported that the fire was on the exterior of the house, and quickly deployed a hose line to begin suppression efforts. Deerfield Engine 20 arrived next and assisted in containing the blaze. The fire was brought under control relatively quickly, and the remaining responding units were held on standby pending further updates.

The incident highlights the importance of early detection and rapid response. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by local authorities.
