Designed from 2006, the first YC6K prototype was made in 2007, and the RG reliability target was reached in 2009. The YC6K development process is inseparable from the support of hardware and software.

On the software side, YC6K's development process follows the standards of AVL, a well-known professional engine consulting company in Europe. Among the more than 30 test items and evaluation standards, Yuchai has already mastered it. On the hardware side, Yuchai's complete test equipment uses AVL products. “For example, we all use eddy current dynamometers. The advantage is that we can use electric drives when the engine is not starting to understand if its internal friction power level is up to the target. The hydraulic dynamometer cannot generate power and cannot do this work. Only the engine can be used to test the power and torque, assuming that the power measured by the hydraulic dynamometer is 100 kilowatts, but it does not measure the internal friction work at 10 kilowatts, and for Yuchai, we can measure 10 kilowatts.
