Firefighter training at NIPSTA

On February 6th, the NIPSTA Firefighter Academy candidates received training on working from an aerial apparatus and performing Bangor ladder raises. Due to the freezing temperatures, near zero degrees, NIPSTA Truck 1 was brought inside, and the session was conducted using a two-and-a-half story RIT prop. It was a great opportunity for the students to practice in a controlled environment while still gaining valuable hands-on experience.

The images show the firefighters in action, demonstrating their skills even in challenging conditions. It's always inspiring to see how they adapt and continue their training regardless of the weather. The use of the RIT prop helped simulate real-life scenarios, giving the students a better understanding of what they might face in the field. These kinds of sessions are crucial for building confidence and competence among new firefighters.
