Global sales climb
In September of this year, Jaguar Land Rover's global new car retail sales were 47,634 units, compared with 46,299 units in September 2014, an increase of 2.88% year-on-year, setting a record for the same period of the previous year. In the first three quarters, the company's cumulative global sales were 349,412 units, which was basically the same as the 351,153 units in the same period last year.
Among the two brands, Jaguar sold 10,394 global retail sales in September, and sold 8,504 vehicles in September last year, a sharp increase of 22.22% year-on-year; Jaguar accounted for 21.8% of the group's sales in September. Land Rover's global retail sales in September were 37,240 units. In September last year, it sold 37,795 units, down 1.47% this year. Land Rover accounted for 78.2% of the group's sales in September.
In the first three quarters, Jaguar's global retail sales were 60,145 units, compared with 63,234 units sold in the same period last year, down 4.89% year-on-year; Jaguar accounted for 17.2% of group sales in the first three quarters. Land Rover's global retail sales in the first three quarters were 289,267 units, compared with 287,919 units sold in the same period last year, up 0.47% this year; Land Rover accounted for 82.8% of the Group's sales in the first three quarters.
In all regional markets, in addition to China, Jaguar Land Rover achieved sales growth in most major markets in September. In September, Jaguar Land Rover sold 7,788 vehicles in China, with sales of 11,130 vehicles in September last year, down 30.03% year-on-year; cumulative sales in the first three quarters were 65,595 units, compared with 92,265 units in the same period last year, down 28.91% year-on-year.
Last month, Jaguar Land Rover's sales in Europe and North America both achieved significant growth, climbing 21% and 18% respectively; among them, sales in the UK achieved a 15% increase. However, China is still the largest single market for Jaguar Land Rover.
Sales in China: Waiting for XE and discovering the power of God
Andy Goss, head of sales at Jaguar Land Rover, said the new Jaguar XE and the new discovery had a positive effect on sales last month, with sales totaling 13,000 units.
Among them, the Jaguar XE mid-level luxury sedan sold 4,762 vehicles worldwide in September, with a total sales volume of 12,201 vehicles in the first three quarters. Land Rover found that the Shenzhou SUV sold 8,566 vehicles worldwide in September, with a cumulative sales volume of 42,913 vehicles in the first three quarters.
Jaguar Land Rover China's vice president of public relations told Geshi Automobile that its two major brands are now selling well in other countries. The Chinese market is declining, mainly with the two main models XE just entering the market, and it is found that the gods are not domestically produced, because these two The products support the growth of other countries' markets; it is expected that sales will be revived after the localization of new cars.
In addition to the decline in sales in China, the Tianjin Port bombing in August also caused certain losses to the company, which is still in liquidation, but Jaguar Land Rover expressed confidence in the future performance.
