According to the latest data released by Jaguar Land Rover, its global sales volume reached 239,000 units in the first half of this year, down slightly by 0.5% year-on-year. In China, the largest single market, the company's monthly sales for the seventh consecutive month fell year-on-year, and in June it plummeted 46%.
Global sales in the first half of the year In June 2015, Jaguar Land Rover sold 39,602 vehicles worldwide, compared with 39,594 units in June 2014, a slight increase of 0.02% year-on-year. The European and American markets showed an upward trend, but the Chinese market fell into a downward trend and eventually managed to achieve year-on-year growth.
The Jaguar brand sold 7,155 global retail sales last month, and its retail sales in July 2014 were 7,595, down 5.79% year-on-year. The Land Rover brand sold 32,447 vehicles worldwide last month and retail sales of 31,999 units in June 2014, a year-on-year increase of 1.40%.
In the first half of 2015, Jaguar Land Rover's global retail sales volume was 239,212 units, down from 240,372 units in the same period last year, down 0.48% year-on-year. In the first half of the year, Jaguar's global cumulative retail sales decreased by 13.97% to 37,499 units from 43,587 units; Land Rover's global cumulative retail sales in the first half of the year increased by 2.50% from the year of 196,785 units to 201,713 units.
Since 2015, Jaguar Land Rover has had global sales down for several months, with the following performances in other months except June.
· 37,137 units sold in January, 39,106 units sold in January last year, down 5.04% year-on-year
· 28,689 units sold in February, 30,487 units sold in February last year, down 5.9% year-on-year
· Sales of 58,481 units in March, sales of 55,183 units in March last year, an increase of 6.0% year-on-year
· 37,286 units sold in April, 37,171 units sold in April last year, a slight increase of 0.3% year-on-year
·Sales sold 38,017 units in May, and 38,831 units sold in May last year, up 2.1% year-on-year.
Sales in China fell for 7 months in June 2015. Jaguar Land Rover sold 6,242 units in the Chinese market in June 2015, a sharp drop of 45.98% year-on-year, compared with 11,554 units in June 2014. This figure is not as good as the 8,081 units sold in the UK, which means that the Jaguar Land Rover's largest single market will be on the verge of the month.
In the first half of this year, Jaguar Land Rover's cumulative retail sales in China were 45,446 units, compared with 62,479 units in the same period last year, a significant decline of 27.26% year-on-year.
From January to May, Jaguar Land Rover in China performed as follows.
·10,820 units sold in China in January, compared with 11,716 units in January last year, down 7.65% year-on-year
· 5,508 units sold in China in February, compared with 6,909 units in February last year, down 20.3% year-on-year
· 7,198 vehicles sold in China in March, 10,942 vehicles in March last year, down 34.2% year-on-year
· 8,289 vehicles sold in China in April, 10,478 vehicles in April last year, down 20.9% year-on-year
· 7,389 vehicles sold in China in May, 10,880 vehicles in May last year, down 32.1% year-on-year
In December 2014, Jaguar Land Rover sold 11,599 units in China, compared with 11,738 units in the same period in 2013, a slight decrease of 1.2% year-on-year. This is the first time that Jaguar Land Rover has experienced a year-on-year decline in sales in China since February 2013, and there was a seasonal factor in February 2013. This time, due to higher sales in December 2013, the comparison base changed. Since December 2014, Jaguar Land Rover has lost sales in China for seven consecutive months.
