The main indicators as a whole good The "2010 China Pesticide Industry Development Report" released during the meeting showed that since the beginning of this year, the output of the pesticide industry has increased significantly. In 2009, the annual output was 2.262 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.3%, a record high; and from January to August this year, the cumulative output was 1.78 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 19.7%, indicating that the rigid demand for pesticides still exists. From January to August, the industry's current total industrial output value was 109.68 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.7%, and sales revenue was 105.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22%. According to data from the General Administration of Customs, in the first half of the year, China imported 31,000 tons of pesticides, an increase of 10.8% year-on-year; import value was US$308 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.8%; exports reached 635,100 tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.5%; exports amounted to US$2.54 billion. , an increase of 9.6% year-on-year. Gu Baoyin, deputy director of the Ministry of Agriculture's Institute of Pesticide Verification, believes that from the current data, the double growth in the volume of imports and exports of pesticides fully demonstrates that China's international trade in pesticides has returned to the level before the international financial crisis.
Export structure optimization is another bright spot. Sun Shubao, secretary general of the China Pesticide Industry Association, believes that the growth of the industry's output value in the past 10 years has been mainly driven by exports. Since last year, the export growth rate has been lower than the total growth, and the importance of the domestic demand market has become increasingly apparent. At the same time, in the first half of this year, the export volume of pharmaceutical preparations accounted for 47.4% of the total export volume of pesticides. The proportion of exports was significantly higher than previous years. The structure of export products was further optimized, and the growth rate of the export of pharmaceutical preparations was also higher than that of the original drugs. In addition, exports from high-end markets such as Europe have increased significantly, and the growth rate and amount of exports from South American emerging markets have been significantly higher than in Asian markets. The business feels hot and cold However, this exciting data does not seem to be in line with people's overall perception of the current pesticide market. From the annual reports of 18 pesticide listed companies, only two companies that have a pesticide-based business have seen an increase in their profitability. Many pharmaceutical companies continue to suffer from the unpleasant demand growth.
Some negative factors also make enterprises feel a headache. Since the first half of the year, extreme weather such as drought and flooding in the south and freezing and freezing in the north have affected agricultural production. The pest situation has been lighter than normal years, which has led to delays in drug season and market start-up. Poor sales of pharmaceutical companies have occurred from time to time; multinational companies have patents with advantages. Products enter the domestic market in a large scale and invade the market share of conventional products of domestic enterprises.
In this regard, Sun Shubao believes that some pesticide companies produce basic chemicals, and the market recovers quickly in this area, which also improves the profitability of the pesticide industry; profitability of major varieties such as glyphosate, imidacloprid, and avermectin has declined sharply. Some non-hot spots The profitability of products is relatively high, and the output of some high-efficiency, low-toxicity, and high-priced products does not grow much, but the sales increase rapidly; due to the impact of the international financial crisis, the dominant enterprises become stronger and stronger, and the market share gradually increases; disadvantaged companies are In the course of competition, market share has declined, and some companies feel that their days are not so good.
Industry dysentery still needs attention While the market is picking up, overcapacity, vicious competition, non-trade barriers, anti-dumping and other issues still require the attention of industry players. The "Report" shows that currently China's pesticide production capacity has exceeded 2.2 million tons, which is in a state of serious excess. Some companies said at the meeting that it was known that today's glyphosate market is such a thing, so why should it go to production and increase production?
Tian Xiaohong, chairman of Shanghai Taiyi Group Co., Ltd., said that in the past few years, not only glyphosate, but almost all key products have doubled or more. At the moment, dozens or even hundreds of companies producing active ingredients, dosage forms, and content to complete the same product are very common, resulting in highly homogenized export pesticide products, lack of scientific and technological content and well-known brands, and taking the initiative to create competitive advantages for foreign companies. Price reduction has become a major competitive strategy for many import and export companies, and vicious competition has become increasingly serious.
In addition, the external environment facing China's pesticide industry is also deteriorating. According to Gu Baoyin, many countries have adopted various protection measures to protect their national interests. Trade protectionism has gradually risen and trade frictions have deepened. China's pesticide products have become the object of anti-dumping investigations in many countries; With the rapid growth of international trade and the continuous occurrence of illegal trade, countries have stepped up efforts to investigate and punish and even take special actions against pesticides in China.
“China is a big producer, a small market country, and a weak country with pricing power.
