According to the General Administration of Foreign Affairs and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, the Volkswagen Group has recalled tens of thousands of high-end vehicles worldwide, including Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche. Global recall of more than 80,000 Audis
According to foreign media reports from China's AQSIQ and Reuters, Volkswagen is recalling 80,000 Audi-brand luxury cars worldwide, all equipped with a 3.0-liter TFSI turbocharged engine. Among them, 35,186 vehicles are involved in the Chinese market, including Audi cars imported by FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., and domestically produced models manufactured by FAW-Volkswagen's Audi business unit.
Volkswagen stated that according to the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall, the recall plan was filed with the AQSIQ and decided to recall the following vehicles from March 20, 2015:
The imported models include Audi A5, Audi A5Cabriolet Convertible, Audi A7, Audi Q7 and Audi A8L, with a total of 32,371 units. The production time is from April 2011 to February 2012.
Domestic models include the Audi A4L and the Audi A6L, totaling 2,815 units, with production times from July 2011 to June 2012.
Volkswagen said that the fuel injection system of some vehicles within the scope of this recall is poorly sealed and may cause fuel odor in the vehicle. In extreme cases, if the fire source may cause the vehicle to catch fire, there is a safety hazard.
More than 60,000 vehicles in China
In addition to FAW-Volkswagen imported and domestic Audi models, Volkswagen recalled Volkswagen brand and Porsche brand models in the Chinese market due to the same faults.
Volkswagen (China) Sales Co., Ltd. announced the recall of the imported Volkswagen Touareg 3.0TSI and Touareg 3.0TSI hybrid vehicles with 3.0TFSI engines, totaling 16,725 units, from April 2011 to February 2012.
Porsche (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. announced the recall of the Cayenne, Cayenne S hybrid and Panamera hybrids with 3.0TFSI engines, totaling 9,135 units, from April 2011 to March 2012.
Including Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche, Volkswagen recalled a total of 61,046 vehicles in the Chinese market.
FAW Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., Volkswagen (China) Sales Co., Ltd. and Porsche (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. all indicated that they will notify the owner of the license by registered mail. The authorized dealers of the above three companies will contact the relevant users for free maintenance.
