Over the past two years, Yuchai has significantly accelerated the development of its green products, staying far ahead of its domestic competitors. The company successfully launched China's first micro-cabin diesel engine with full independent intellectual property rights, as well as the first domestically developed diesel engine meeting the Daqing 4 emission standards and the first natural gas engine to meet the same standard. Additionally, Yuchai independently developed China’s first Euro 5 electronically controlled diesel engine, surpassing national emission standards by five years. The company has also introduced a hybrid model for urban passenger vehicles, achieving performance similar to a six-cylinder engine while reducing fuel consumption by approximately 20% and significantly lowering carbon dioxide and other harmful emissions.
In terms of environmental responsibility, Yuchai has fulfilled its commitments to both the Yulin City and Municipal Governments. By the end of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†period, it aimed to limit the annual discharge of chemical oxygen demand to 80 tons and sulfur dioxide emissions to 50 tons. However, through deep implementation of energy-saving and emission-reduction initiatives, Yuchai managed to keep the annual discharge of chemical oxygen demand below 40 tons and sulfur dioxide emissions under 8 tons—far below the government's targets. This achievement marks the successful realization of green manufacturing practices within the company.
