With the rapid globalization of the world economy, it has become a growing trend for developed countries to outsource the production of mechanical parts and components to China. As a result, China is increasingly emerging as a central hub in global manufacturing. Domestic host companies are now placing higher demands on the quality and scale of their component suppliers, which has intensified the need for improved downstream support capabilities. Despite this progress, there remains a noticeable gap between the quality of China's mechanical and electrical products and those of the world's leading manufacturers. One of the key challenges lies in the relatively low quality of parts and components, with many domestic manufacturers still operating at a small scale and with outdated technology. To remain competitive, these companies must quickly adapt to market changes, enhance their supporting infrastructure, and boost product quality.
To address these issues, the China Federation of Machinery Industry and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing will co-host the 2006 China International Machinery Industry
Accessories and Parts Exhibition in Beijing from September 5 to September 7. This event aims to create a high-quality, multi-dimensional, and efficient platform for interaction among external part manufacturers, component producers, and host companies. Through product exhibitions and information exchange, the exhibition seeks to strengthen strategic partnerships between original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their suppliers, ultimately improving the quality of mechanical parts and enhancing the market competitiveness of China’s mainframe enterprises.
Lu Renqi, Executive Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation, emphasized that this year’s exhibition will feature a wide range of domestic and international manufacturers across sectors such as metallurgy, mining, transportation, agricultural machinery, machine tools, petrochemicals, power, construction machinery, and defense. The event is expected to positively impact the development of China’s equipment manufacturing industry and further expand international trade and cooperation in related fields.
He also noted that many mechanical and accessory companies are small or medium-sized enterprises, and traditionally, machinery exhibitions have focused more on the host industry, with parts and components playing a secondary role. As a result, component manufacturers often struggle to achieve the desired visibility and impact. However, the 2006 China International Machinery Industry Supporting Parts and Components Exhibition will give these companies a central stage.
It is well known that matching procurement for mainframe enterprises is a complex task due to the vast number of component types required, which demands both high quality and cost efficiency. By organizing the exhibition, direct supply-demand interactions can be facilitated, reducing procurement and sales costs for both parties and promoting a win-win situation. The comprehensive and supportive nature of the exhibition will also greatly benefit the procurement processes of host manufacturing companies.
To enhance the effectiveness of the event, three specialized sessions will be held during the exhibition period. First, the 2006 Ministerial Procurement Annual Meeting of Key Host Companies in the Machinery Industry will take place. This meeting has been held multiple times, with over 100 major machinery manufacturers participating each year, including Beiqi Futian, Yituo, Yizhong, Erzhong, Taizhong, Shen Mine, Shantui, Xugong, Beikai, BAWEI, Northern Heavy Industry, Jinan Second Machine Tool, John Deere, and others. Second, an on-site procurement information conference will be held, with chambers of commerce from Germany, Russia, Italy, India, and other countries planning to send purchasing delegations to share procurement opportunities. Third, the exhibition will organize professional seminars on procurement and supply chain management, featuring discussions on modern logistics theories and helping companies improve their operational and logistics capabilities.
Additionally, the exhibition will invite multinational corporations, foreign-funded institutions in Beijing, wholly-owned enterprises, joint ventures, and research institutes to attend, make purchases, and conduct business negotiations. (China Industry News)
