With the rapid globalization of the world economy, it has become increasingly common for developed countries to outsource the production of mechanical components and parts to China. As a result, China is gradually emerging as a global manufacturing hub. Domestic host companies are now placing higher demands on the quality and scale of components and their supporting industries. Despite significant progress, there remains a gap between China's mechanical and electrical products and those of the world's leading manufacturers. A major challenge lies in the relatively low quality of parts and components. Many domestic manufacturers are small in scale and lack advanced technology, making it essential for them to adapt quickly to market changes and enhance their competitiveness.
To address this, the China Federation of Machinery Industry and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing will co-host the 2006 China International Machinery Industry Accessories and Parts Exhibition in Beijing from September 5 to 7. This event aims to create a high-quality, multi-dimensional, and efficient platform for interaction among external component producers, component manufacturers, and host companies. By showcasing products and facilitating information exchange, the exhibition seeks to strengthen strategic partnerships between OEMs and suppliers, ultimately improving the quality of mechanical parts and boosting the market competitiveness of China’s mainframe companies.
Lu Renqi, executive vice president of the China Machinery Industry Federation, highlighted that this year’s exhibition will feature domestic and international manufacturers across various sectors, including metallurgy, mining, transportation, agricultural machinery, machine tools, petrochemicals, power, construction equipment, and defense. The event is expected to promote the development of China’s equipment manufacturing industry and further expand international trade and cooperation in related fields.
He also noted that many mechanical and accessory enterprises are small or medium-sized, and current machinery exhibitions mainly focus on the host industry, with parts and components playing a supporting role. As a result, component manufacturers often struggle to achieve the desired visibility. However, at the 2006 China International Machinery Industry Supporting Parts and Components Exhibition, these companies will take center stage.
Procurement for mainframe enterprises is a complex and time-consuming process due to the vast number of components required. It demands both high quality and cost-effectiveness. The exhibition provides a direct channel for supply and demand to meet, reducing procurement and sales costs and fostering a win-win situation. The comprehensive nature of the exhibition will also greatly benefit the procurement processes of host manufacturing companies.
To enhance effectiveness, the exhibition will include three key sessions during its duration: First, the 2006 Ministry Procurement Annual Meeting for Key Host Companies in the Machinery Industry. This annual event has seen participation from over 100 large-scale machinery manufacturers, including Beiqi Futian, Yituo, Yizhong, Erzhong, Taizhong, Shen Mine, Shantui, Xugong, Beikai, BAWEI, Northern Heavy Industry, Jinan Second Machine Tool, John Deere, and others. Second, an on-site procurement information conference, where chambers of commerce from Germany, Russia, Italy, India, and other countries plan to send purchasing delegations to share procurement needs. Third, professional seminars on procurement and supply chain management, featuring discussions on modern logistics theory to improve company management and logistics efficiency.
